2nd Sino-EU International Workshop on transport emission regulations and their deployment

2nd Sino-EU International Workshop on transport emission regulations and their deployment
19-20 June 2018

Albert Borschette Building - Room 1.D

Rue Froissart 36, 1040 Brussels (Belgium)

The event is jointly organised by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the Vehicle Emission Control Centre (VECC) of the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection. The Workshop will focus on the new Real Driving Emission (RDE) test procedure and will be held in Brussels Belgium, on the 19th-20th June 2018, following-up the successful first edition hosted by VECC in Beijing in March 2017.

In the past decade, EU and China have achieved a good level of exchanges and regulatory cooperation in several areas, including on the automotive sector, with positive results. The dialogue in this sector has been focusing on energy efficiency and pollutants emission control. Keeping emissions standards and testing methodologies as much as possible aligned within the regional legislative frameworks is increasingly important also from a strategic point of view, in order to minimize trade barriers and facilitate adoption of new technologies at global level.

The event aims at bringing together EU and China legislators, stakeholders and scientists in an effort to provide a forum to discuss the latest international regulations on real driving emissions.

The first day of the event will be dedicated to opening speeches and setting the legislative scene for RDE testing of light-duty vehicles and PEMS testing heavy duty vehicles respectively, with insights on testing procedure application by stakeholders.

The second day will address further views and experiences on the application of RDE and PEMS procedures in the morning and market surveillance technical aspects in the afternoon.

Presentations in the plenary and scientific sessions will be on invitation only; for more details please refer to the attached agenda.

We hope that the issues addressed are of interest to you and we invite you to book these dates in your calendar. We would also appreciate an early confirmation of your attendance, through this REGISTRATION LINK (deadline June14th, 2018).
